Kenny Endo’s “Gateway – ‘Ma’ vs. Groove” Project will tour Fall 2010 featuring an eclectic group of musicians from both Japan and the US; Kenny Endo (taiko), Hitoshi Hamada (vibraphones), Tadayoshi Yasuda (shamisen), Kaoru Watanabe (bamboo flutes, taiko), Shoko Hikage (koto). Tour supported in part by The Japan Foundation; Tradex, a National Organization for Traditional Artists Exchange; and Taiko Arts Center.

SPECIAL 1-day only HACHIJO TAIKO Workshop with Rokunin-Kai members from JAPAN. Learn the basics of this free flowing yet powerful style from the remote island of Hachijo! Fee: $30

Special one-week intensive courses for those interested in concentrated, short term study. This year, the courses are on odaiko (the big drum) and shime daiko (small rope-lashed drum). Be empowered by the great drum. Learn technique and develop dexterity in the shime daiko class useful for any type of drumming.
