NEW! Beginning FAMILY Taiko I

(ages 13-adult)

Thursdays 4:00-4:55 pm

Beginnning FAMILY TAIKO is for those parents and children, grandparents & grandkids, aunties, uncles, nieces, nephews, and/or cousins that would like to experience taiko together!  Basic form, technique, practice pieces, and cultural customs associated with the art form are introduced.  A GREAT bonding experience!

 Course Fee: dependent on # weeks in course, # adults, # children

Adult
Beginning Taiko I

(ages 13-adult)

2 sections available:

Sundays3:00-3:55 pm

Tuesdays 6:00-6:55 pm

For students with little or no experience with taiko. Basic form, rhythms,
movement, philosophy, centering, and balance will be emphasized. Practice
ensemble pieces are introduced. Enrollment
limited. Repeating Level I is recommended.

Adult Beginning Taiko II

(ages 13-adult)

Thursdays 5:00-5:55 pm

 This　course is for those students who have successfully completed Beginning Taiko I. Basics learned in Beginning I will be reinforced and expanded　upon. Movement exercises in preparation for soloing will be introduced.　Emphasis is on developing ensemble drumming skills, form and technique. Enrollment limited.

Adult
Intermediate Taiko

(ages 13-adult)


Mondays 8:00-8:55 pm


Thursdays 6:00-6:55 pm

This　course is for those students who have successfully completed　Beginning Taiko II or have three or more years of experience　playing taiko. Focus will be on ensemble drumming, soloing,　and repertoire development with possible opportunities for performance.　Instructor approval required before enrollment. Enrollment limited.

Performance Training Taiko for Adults

Thursdays 7:00-8:55pm

Open　to students who have already successfully completed Intermediate Taiko　or have equivalent background in Taiko, and who have interest, talent, and potential to become a performer.  Review of basic foundations　of technique and form are on-going.  Emphasis is on developing　ensemble drumming and performance skills.  Enrollment is limited.  Instructor’s permission required for enrollment.

Adult
Advanced Taiko

Sundays 10:30am-11:55am

Tuesdays 8:00-8:55pm

 This　course is for those students who have already successfully completed Adult Performance Training (or have equivalent experience) and are seriously interested in honing skills　for performance on stage. Emphasis will be on technique, form, soloing,　improvisation, and honing performance skills. Instructor’s permission　required for enrollment. Enrollment limited.
