Looking forward to the Imaginary Homelands hybrid performance becoming a reality on February 26 and 27. Originally scheduled for 2021…it’s been postponed several times due to the pandemic. It’s been an interesting process…a collaboration between Okinawan and contemporary dance with sounds from Okinawan, Japanese, and Western traditions. Been collaborating with an amazing cast – Yukie Shiroma, whom I’ve known since the 70s Asian American Movement in San Francisco, Norman Kaneshiro, Derek Fujio and dancers from a vast array of different backgrounds.
